Investigation: Private Residence - Long Island, NY

Date of Investigation: 11/7/09

Case File#: PRLI - 11072009

The Scene

On Saturday, November 7th, the EPIC Team returned to this Long Island residence to conduct a follow-up investigation. You can see the results of our first investigation here.

This time, the EPIC team set up its base of operations (or "safe room") in the basement, since it was furthest away from the main sites of the reported activity, which was the second floor of the home.

The Investigation

As with the first investigation, we conducted a normal setup, using the DVR, 4 infrared cameras, 3 Hi-8's, digital and wireless audio, digital and 35mm cameras, and the standard EMF detectors.

Teams of three investigators were used for this location again, since the house was fairly large and even the smaller rooms needed to be covered properly.

The Findings

During this second investigation, a few interesting pieces of evidence were captured. As with the first investigation, there were a few unusually high EMF spikes around the house, with a baseline of about 2.0, and upon further investigation, they were found to be higher in the basement. But even on the second floor, the overall readings in the house were a bit higher than normal, yet not high enough to be considered significant..

As far as photographic evidence, nothing of note was captured.

We did manage to capture an EVP on video. A team of three investigators were in the living room on the first floor. One hears a thud and asks another to recreate a movemtn she just did on the couch, and the thud is explained. The EVP session continues, asking "Is there someone you want to talk to?" We get a fairly clear response. Click below to watch the clip and to see what we think it is saying.

Watch the video clip with EVP

As far as the audio evidence is concerned, there was one anomaly caught by the team. In the child's bedroom, the team of two Investigators was just entering and about to conduct an EVP session. Right before Artie says "Again..." you can hear what sounds like a scream in the distance. Neither Investigator mentions this at the time, meaning it probably wasn't outside noise.

Listen to the scream

There were some personal experiences, with two Investigators experiencing being gently touched, which the residents have claimed experiencing as well. Almost all members of the investigative team experienced hearing movement in other rooms that were unoccupied at the time. There was another piece of audio evidence, which sounded like one of the dining room chairs being moved while nobody was on the first floor, but as it's just a sound of wood on wood, we did not deem it as something significant enough to post on the site.

Conclusions

The EPIC team had a few personal experiences this time around, and captured some EVPs. We advised the owner of the house to call in a priest to conduct a blessing, and as of this writing, all of the paranormal activity in the home has stopped. This is a case we continue to monitor, and we will post updates as they become available.
